MIL-STD 130 Labels is a guideline laid out by The Department of Defense (DOD). If you are a contractor, providing parts to the DOD, you will be applying MIL-STD 130 labels, tags, identification plates or the like to any part provided to the government. Each item must be applied directly to each individual part without exception. Also, these labels tags or identification markers must be suited to last the lifetime of the product that is being supplied.

MIL-STD130 also specifies what types of label, tag and ID marker processes must be used to manufacture the markers. Some of these processes are engraving, embossing and photo anodizing.
